Roblox Azure Mines
Azure Mines is one of the current most successful games on ROBLOX, already being included in an event despite only existing for less than a year. The game was created in July of last year but has got 15M+ visits and has been included in the Medieval Battle event. It has gathered up 320k+ favourites and 120K+ likes.
The challenge on Azure Mines for the event was to craft a Gilded Golden Pickaxe which requires twenty-five gold ore, aka one of the rarest ores in the game. Overall, out of the three challenges of the event, Azure Mines is the hardest. Unless you trade or glitch, it can take over an hour due to the rarity of gold. For me, I hadn’t played Azure Mines much before the event came out so I started off with a low-quality pickaxe like all new players do. Due to these reasons, it took me over an hour to acquire the required ore.
The game mostly branches from the success of Lumber Tycoon 2, a very similar game, as well as tycoons. Azure Mines is what I classify as a diverse tycoon, a game which has a tycoon style but is much more interactive.
The objective of Azure Mines is to mine ores while upgrading your base, pickaxe and equipment. The deeper that you mine, the better the ores you find however things will get darker, harder and ores will take longer to mine. The rarer the ore, the more you will be rewarded for mining it. You can also level up with EXP that you gain from mining expensive ores. After selling your ores, you can make money to upgrade your base further or buy pickaxes.
The game is full of Easter eggs relating to the Illuminati, Harambe and other popular trends and memes on the internet. Most of the badges are centred around secrets in the game and most of these are memes.
Overall, I’d give the game a 6.5/10 rating, very like Lumber Tycoon 2. The game is well made but I am not a very big fan of this style of games. I would rate it lower but just like Lumber Tycoon, it is a very popular and beloved game. I personally prefer Azure Mines over Lumber Tycoon due to more diversity in the game than Lumber Tycoon. There is more stuff to do and harder processes in Azure Mines and that is why I personally rate it higher than Lumber Tycoon. It really is up to personal preference because both games are very similar and alike.
I’d rate the game 7.5/10 in playability. Compared to Lumber Tycoon, as I said, there is a lot more to do. There will most likely always be something new to obtain and something rare to find deep below the surface. Due to this reason, I will give it a 7.5/10 although it can get a bit boring after a while.
There’s not much point in rating the game on graphics however, I will rate it on display instead. The game has plenty of areas to explore and you are almost guaranteed to never run out of ore to mine. The map can be quite glitchy at times but if you stick to how you are meant to play, you should be fine. I’d give it a 7/10 in display.
That’s it for this game review! If you’d like to see a very similar game and my opinions on it, check out my Lumber Tycoon 2 review!
