MeepCity is possibly the biggest roleplaying game on ROBLOX currently, so much so that at the time of me writing this, it is one of the final nominees in the Bloxy Awards of 2016, aka the fourth annual awards ceremony.
The game was created by development team that are currently known as ‘The MeepCity Staff Team’ that consists of ROBLOX users, alexnewtron, TrainedDoorman, Celestaphone, HolidayPwner and KrixYaz. Together they have created one of the most popular games on ROBLOX.
MeepCity is a game all about creativity, imagination and roleplaying. You are placed into a large server and spawn inside of a large town. You must then buy and name your Meep. A Meep is pretty much the name of certain pets in this strange world called MeepCity. Meeps are small circular, floating creatures that you can customise and bring with you around the crazy town. After you’ve bought your Meep, you can then create a house. Whilst the house is free, to expand on it and customise it, you must pay coins. You can earn coins by playing actively, buying them with ROBUX or by doing jobs and fishing.
There are lots of different shops and locations you can check out to buy stuff in or roleplay. You can eat ice cream at the ice cream shop, visit the hospital and play as a doctor, go to school and play as a teacher or even go to Club DJ, a brand-new nightclub that will be opening in the upcoming updates! Either way, there are plenty of different places to play in.
In one of the more recent updates, one of the biggest additions were added, the party feature. This allows players to host events which others can attend as guests. You could show off how rich you are in the game, or how creative you are with furniture or just have fun with friends and strangers. Currently, you can have parties with up to 50 players at once across multiple servers! This feature has proven to be very successful as more players than ever before play MeepCity actively.
Whether you enjoy the very specific content that MeepCity has or hate it, one thing is for sure and that’s the quality of the game. With so much to do and such advanced features, the game is clearly a step in the right direction for the future of ROBLOX games. The fact that MeepCity can host more players on different servers from within City than most normal games can, is already very impressive.
Overall, I’d have to give this game a 7.5/10 from a scale of 1 to 10. The game is very impressive with all the advanced features that it maintains and the incredible community that it has. Although I am personally, not a very big fan of the game, I can understand why so many ROBLOX players enjoy it. It has so many diverse functions and fun activities to do, it truly is an amazing game. You just have to admire the amount of effort the creators and community have put into this game and it will clearly continue to prosper so long as the creators have sufficed updates and continue to update it frequently.
I would give it an 8/10 in activity as the developers continue to frequently post updates to the game, in fact, as of writing this review, the game was last updated two days ago. These updates tend to not be very small as well, with most of them containing at least one big, new feature, location, game or thing to do.
I would give the game a 7/10 in playability. Although I do think I would get bored of its’ constant theme eventually, the game has plenty of content to enjoy if you are someone that finds entertainment from this game. It will clearly continue to update frequently and I highly doubt the fan base will die off anytime soon.
And finally, I would give it a 7.5/10 in graphics. I have definitely seen better graphics in my experience on ROBLOX although saying that, the graphics are quite advanced in this game and the buildings look amazing.
I’m also going to give bonus points for some amazing artwork. The cover art for MeepCity is well and truly amazing with unique and creative designs that seem to perfectly portray MeepCity as a game.
All of this for a game that hasn’t even existed for more than a year is very impressive and I can see great potential in MeepCity and suspect that it will have a great future.
